London 2012 Olympics: Bramham last chance as selectors make their choice

Even more going on at Bramham… Despite its disrupted schedule, next week, eventing will become the first equestrian discipline to announce its team for London 2012. With the remaining slot said to be between five riders, Bramham is even more exciting this year.

Don’t forget – WOW Saddles is at Bramham

The Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials is this year running a CIC3* (International One-day) Cross Country event on Sunday 10th June, in addition to the planned CCI3* (International Three-day event) Cross Country event, from 7th – 10th June.

One-star events are for horses that are just being introduced to international competition, and the event will be an ideal showcase for British riders aiming for 2012 Olympic selection.

The organisers have added the one day event to the schedule due to the cancellation of so many other high profile events this season, including Badminton and Chatsworth horse trials, which have left many Olympic equestrian contenders desperate for a good run before they potentially head to Greenwich in July. The Olympic Selectors recently announced that they would delay making their final team decision until after Bramham.

“We have a large entry in both classes, particularly the CIC3*, and simply could not accommodate so many horses within our usual timetable. As an Event we feel that we want to do all we can to help the competitors, especially in this exciting Olympic year,” Bramham organisers stated.
